Who we are

Microworker.app ("Microworker", "we", "us") operates this website and the Microworker micro-task marketplace. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].

Information we collect

  • Marketplace accounts: your display name, email, country, the tasks you post or complete, your in-app balance, and the crypto withdrawal address you enter when cashing out. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from them.
  • Profile and company details: a profile photo, if you add one; and, if you set up a company profile, your company's name, website and logo. We check that the website is yours — by your email address at its domain, or by looking for a record or a file on it — and once it is verified we show the company's name and logo on your tasks.
  • Task proof: the content you submit as proof of completed work — including screenshots, text, and links — which employers review to approve or reject your submission. Our own servers check proof automatically — for example, to spot a screenshot copied from another account, or to read text an employer asked to see in it — and keep a small fingerprint of each screenshot (a checksum and a tiny greyscale copy) for that purpose. Our servers also read the words in proof screenshots and compare them with other accounts' screenshots for the same task, to spot a copy that was cropped or framed. If your proof names an account of yours on another site — a GitHub or YouTube username, for example — we record that name, to spot one such account being used by several Microworker accounts: the accounts named in your proofs are listed as your social accounts on the Skills & assets tab, where you can remove one that is not yours, and one social account can belong to only one Microworker account. If you link a Telegram account — to do group-join tasks, or because a cash-out needs it — we store your Telegram ID and username and, for a group-join task, ask Telegram whether you joined the group. Your first cash-out needs a linked Telegram account, and one Telegram account can be linked to only one Microworker account.
  • Usage information: what you do on Microworker, such as the tasks you open, claim, post and fund, what you search for on the task board, what you type into the task writer, and, when you create an account, the link or campaign that first brought you here (remembered in your browser from your first visit and sent with your sign-up). Our own servers record this with the country of your connection and your type of device — never your IP address — and we use it to operate, secure and improve the service. We use no third-party analytics and no advertising trackers.
  • Technical data: IP address and basic server logs. We keep the address you signed up from and the address and browser of each signed-in session, to keep accounts secure and to spot fraud. Staff can check an address with an IP-reputation service (proxycheck.io), which receives only the address, to tell whether it belongs to a VPN, proxy or data centre. We use the country of your connection to suggest a language and show the tasks open to you, and first-party cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
  • Device identifier: a random identifier that we create and keep in a first-party cookie (pw_did) in the browser you use Microworker in. It is not read from your device and says nothing about who you are. We use it to keep accounts secure and to stop one person from running several accounts. Family members may share a phone, each with their own account, so staff see which accounts share one, but sharing one does not hold your work or your cash-outs. While you are signed in, the app also keeps a second random identifier in your browser's own storage, and sends a browser signature: a one-way hash (a scrambled summary that cannot be turned back into the details) of your screen size, time zone, languages, number of processor cores and memory, graphics chip and, where your browser shares it, your phone's model. Many people have the same phone, so the signature on its own does not single you out; we use these identifiers only to keep one person to one account, and keep them while your account exists. Separately, so that a page opens in its final shape before our servers answer, the app keeps a small note in your browser's storage (mw_sides) with your account ID and whether you have done tasks, posted tasks or have a live plan; it stays on your device and is never sent to us.
  • Activity on a task page: while you work on a task, we record when you opened its page, how long the page was visible, which links from the task's instructions you opened (the website's name only, never the full address), and when you ticked a step or chose screenshots. We use this to check the work — for example, whether the task's link was opened before the proof was sent — and delete it after 120 days.
  • Automated review of proof: every proof is checked automatically when it is sent. Its screenshots (made smaller, with photo information such as location removed) and its text are sent to an AI provider — Google (the Gemini API) and, when we switch it on, Anthropic (Claude) — to compare them with the task's instructions, and our servers compare the work with other workers' work on the same task: how long it took, how the screenshot looks and the answers given. A proof can then be paid, sent back for a fix, not accepted, or passed to a person to check. A worker can dispute a decision, and a person reviews every dispute.
  • Voice input: if you speak into a field instead of typing, your browser's own speech recognition turns it into text — provided by your browser's maker (such as Google or Apple). We receive only the resulting text, never the audio.
  • Push notifications: if you use our mobile app and allow notifications, we store a device push token so we can send task and account alerts via Google Firebase Cloud Messaging.
  • New-task alerts: if you turn them on in Settings, we keep your choices, your timezone (for quiet hours) and your language. For Telegram alerts, our bot sends you messages in Telegram, so Telegram sees them. For notifications on your phone or computer, your browser gives us an address at its maker's push service (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft); the message we send through it is encrypted, so that service sees that a message was sent but not what it says. You can turn either off at any time in Settings. Through the same channels we also send updates about your own tasks, work and money (a task finished, a proof paid or sent back, a note from an employer); you can turn these updates off on their own in Settings.
  • Billing details (optional): the name, address, tax ID and billing email you add in Settings are printed on the receipts for the money you add and the plans you pay. We keep them until you clear them or close your account.
  • Email & support: if you email us, write to us on the Support page, or choose to receive product updates, we keep your email address and that correspondence. If you write to our Telegram bot from a connected account, your message and our reply are kept in the same support conversation, and Telegram carries them, so Telegram sees them. Pictures sent to the bot are not collected.
  • Survey rewards: when a survey partner tells us you finished one of its surveys, we record the reward, the partner's reference for it and when it becomes yours — never your answers, which the partner does not send us.
  • Switch-offer applications: if you apply for our offer for employers moving from another site, we keep what you send — where you post tasks now, your username or profile and links to your tasks there, roughly what you spend there a month, and your notes — together with anything you send us in Support about it. Our staff review it, and may open those links, to decide on your application.
  • Daily balance rule: while the daily balance rule in our Terms is on, we record the days you work, which days a new task was posted for you (only those count), when the rule was first shown to you, and what moves to or from your balance under it. On the Daily page, signed-in workers can see the usernames of the workers who got a share of a day's bonus, with the amount and its reasons (the money they earned that day, any task they left to run out, their streak), and of those with the longest runs of days worked in a row; amounts taken from balances are shown without names. You can hide your name there; other workers then see "A worker" instead.
  • Skills and assets (optional): what you choose to tell us on the Skills & assets tab of your profile — see Skills and assets below.

Skills and assets (optional)

On the Skills & assets tab of your profile you can tell us the kinds of work you want; the languages you speak and how well; your skills; where you play games, the kinds of games you like and the games you play most; the apps you use; the pages and channels you run (the platform, its link, its topic, how many followers and views it has, and where most of its audience is); your city; and how many hours a week you can work. Your country comes from your account.

Language tests. For some languages you can take a short test on the same tab: a few reading questions and a few sentences you write. We keep your answers, what you wrote and the result; your writing is graded by an AI provider (see "AI providers" below). If you pass, the language shows as tested, and an employer may limit a task to workers whose language was tested. Your test answers are seen by you and, when needed, our staff — never by employers.

Why. To show you matching work first — for example, game tasks to someone who plays games; to let an employer offer a task only to workers with what it needs — for example, Urdu speakers, or people who run a TikTok page — in which case only workers whose answers match see it and can take it; and to tell employers how many workers match what their task needs.

Who sees it. You, and our staff when it is needed to run Microworker — for example, to check that a page is yours or to look into fraud. Employers never see your answers, your city or your page links: at most they see how many people match a task, and we do not show that number when it is under 10. We do not sell it.

Your consent. Filling it in is optional. Most tasks are open to everyone; only the tasks an employer limits to certain skills, languages or pages need it. Saving the tab is your consent to this use: we record when you first saved it and which version of this policy was in force then. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your answers.

What we do not ask. We do not ask for your religion, health, political opinions, ethnic origin or anything like them. Please do not type them into any field.

How long we keep it. Until you change it, delete it ("Delete my skills & assets" on the tab), or close your account, which deletes it — your language tests and their results included.

How we use your information

To operate the marketplace and process task payments and crypto payouts; to keep you signed in; to send task and account notifications; if you filled in your skills and assets, to show you matching work first and the tasks that are only for workers like you; to prevent fraud and abuse — including one person running several accounts — and keep the platform safe; to respond to your support requests and, if you opted in, send occasional product updates; and to meet our legal obligations.

How we share it

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run Microworker — for example our crypto payment processor when you add funds or withdraw, our email provider, our hosting and infrastructure providers, the IP-reputation service described above, Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver push notifications, and Telegram and your browser's push service when you turn on new-task alerts — and where required by law. These providers may process your data outside your country, including in the United States.

AI providers. What you type into the task writer, the task postings we check when they are funded, the proof workers send (see "Automated review of proof" above), what you write in a language test, and the task postings and employers' notes we translate into a worker's language are sent to our AI providers — Google (Gemini) and, when we have it switched on, Anthropic (Claude, directly or through Google Cloud) — to write, review or translate them. When we use a provider's free service, that provider may use what we send to improve its products.

Survey partners. If you open the Surveys tab, our survey partner CPX Research (Make Opinion GmbH, Germany) receives a random ID we create for you — never your name or email — together with your IP address and type of device, to find surveys that fit you and to prevent fraud. When you finish a survey, it tells us the reward. The surveys are run by CPX Research and the companies behind them, and their privacy terms apply to what you answer there.

Employers. An employer sees the proof submitted to their tasks — on the website, or on their own systems if they use our API.

Sign in with Google. Google's sign-in button is loaded from Google, and Google's own privacy policy applies to it.

Public task earnings. When you start or complete a task, and after a task submission is approved, we may display the first part of your display name, your country, the task title, reward amount, and time in our public earnings feed, the task's live activity and share links. These amounts are credits to your balance; they do not confirm a withdrawal. We do not publish your email, wallet address, proof files, or transaction IDs in this feed. To hide your task earnings from the feed and share links, email [email protected].

Retention

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Account data is kept while your account is open and until you ask us to remove it. Usage information is deleted after about 13 months, and activity on task pages after 120 days; the record of where your account came from stays with your account. Marketplace transaction records may be retained longer where required for accounting or legal reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on these lawful bases: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing the platform, your consent (which you can withdraw), and legal compliance — and you have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. If you are a California resident, we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. To exercise any right, email [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and securely hashed login codes. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
